Sukumari Bhattacharji (12 July – 24 May ) was a Sanskrit scholar, author (Bengali and English), and indologist.

96 of her husband professor Amal Bhattacharji, renowned teacher of English in Presidency College, she became an atheist and a Marxist.

Like the western scholars in the field of culture and society, she perhaps juxtaposes mythology and cultural anthropology in the truest sense.
